Naptime

Naptime has been quite the evolution around here.

Fin used to be our resident napper, but Bub is close to taking that title away from her, or at least sharing it.  Fin prefers to go right into her crib.  Just make sure she has her blankie and her doggie and she'll usually talk herself to sleep within a few minutes.

In the morning she goes down around 10:30 and recently has been sleeping for an hour and a half, sometimes a little longer.  Then in the afternoon she goes down around 3:45 and sleeps for 45 minutes.

Bub used to be a terrible napper.  Sometimes he would only sleep for 30 minutes, sometimes 45, maybe an hour if we were lucky.  And more often than not we were holding him for most of it.  But that has changed, finally.

Thankfully they nap at the same time, and for about the same amount of time too.  Now we just have to hope when they transition to one nap, which I'm thinking is going to be sooner than later, they do that at the same time too.

Bub still likes to be held and rocked until he falls asleep.  He's been like that from day one, and we've just never been able to break the habit.  Considering all the tummy issues he's had, who could blame us?  Plus, he's a really good snuggler!

We were worried his sleep patterns would be compromised because of the tube and spending two days away from everything that is familiar to him, but his naps don't seem to be suffering at all.  If anything, he's sleeping longer.  I think he actually missed being in his own bed.  And having the tube taped to his back doesn't seem to both him either.  Thankfully he sleeps mostly on his tummy.

Sleeping through the night ... now that's a whole different story and will require it's own separate posting.  Stay tuned.
