Bub had an appointment with Dr. T today.
The GOOD news ...
- He's gained over 2 pounds in just 18 days! When we left the hospital on the 31st, he weighed 20 lbs, 1.5 oz, and today he weighed 22 lbs, 3.5 oz.
- He's back in the 25th percentile for height to weight ratio. He needs to be back in the 50th percentile before we can start cutting any of his night feedings.
- We can start adding back in some of the milk-based formula, just a little at a time, since we know he isn't allergic to dairy.
- They agreed to re-run some of the blood work to make sure his levels are all where they should be. And since they run the tests on site, we should get the results back tomorrow.
The BAD news ...
- We've had to pull his tube out and re-insert it three times in the past three days. Which is no fun for any of us, but especially not for him.
- The past two mornings he's vomited several times and been
extremely lethargic, to the point where I had the car ready to take him to the ER. We don't know if it's because we had to replace
the tube so many times, or if something else is going on. Dr. T wants
us to call first thing in the morning and give her an update on how Bub
is feeling. If he's still vomiting or acting unlike himself in any
way, she wants us to come back in right away and they'll get him admitted. He was in a pretty good mood tonight. Maybe a little more needy than normal, but we were at DCH for almost four hours, he had the tube put back in his nose yet again, a chest x-ray, and a blood draw. That's a lot for a little fella in one afternoon.
I just want to say to my little man that he is incredibly brave. He's been to doctor appointment after doctor appointment, been poked and prodded, been held down and had tubes forced into him, been held down and had needles stuck into him, endured tummy aches and sleepless nights -- and yet he's the sweetest, happiest, most mellow kid ever. I am so lucky and so proud to be his Mom. I love you, Bub!
