Hobbies

I had a friend (well, more of an acquaintance) ask me the other day what my hobbies are.  And yes, this person does know I have 12 1/2 month old twins.  But doesn't know too much about our situation with Bub and his refusal to eat, which has lasted for almost a month now.

Considering my state of worry and concern for Bub, and seeing as I was fresh out of tears at the moment, all I could think to do was laugh.

Hobbies?

You can't be serious?

Of course I didn't say this out loud.  Instead I just shrugged and said, "Oh, you know, chasing after the kiddos.  They keep me pretty busy."

But later that day it got me to thinking.  What ARE my hobbies these days?

The list is, sadly, quite short.  But the truth is Bub and Fin are now my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When I do get a few spare moments, here's what I like to do:

- Spin biking

I used to take classes at the gym, but since I can't seem to get there at the scheduled time anymore (hmmm, wonder why?), I just go and spin by myself.  It's actually really good to have some time alone to decompress.

- Making handmade cards

Not to brag or anything (even though I'm about to do just that!) ... I made my own invitations for Bub and Fin's first birthday party!  And the thank you cards too!  Although I do remember saying to myself, more than once, "Am I nuts?  Next time I'm just going to buy the stinkin' cards at the store."  But they turned out super cute and worth the hours of sleep I lost doing them at night after putting the kids to bed.

- Staying in touch with friends

Email seems to be my communication of choice these days, cause I do it on the fly, with a kid in tow, or late at night.  But when I get the chance phone is good too.

- And yes, blogging

My latest guilty pleasure!

And what fun is blogging without a few pictures ...
