I LOVED having snow on Christmas last year, even though
it lasted for much longer than us Oregonians are used to. Unlike most
people, being stranded at home wasn't so bad since I had two newborns
to take care of and wasn't leaving the house anyway. But I'm glad
we're not having a repeat performance this year.
I like being able to get out with the kids, even if it's just going to the mall or the grocery store. Any outing is a good outing. They're only taking one early afternoon nap so we can actually go places for longer than an hour. I also like not having to worry about getting stuck behind someone who doesn't know how to drive in the snow. Not that I'm an expert, although I did spend 4 years of college in Minnesota.
I'm thinking snow every other year is a good compromise. So next year, bring it on!

It was exactly one year ago today our house looked like this ...
Bub and Fin were almost three months old and looked like this ...
Today we had partial blue sky and there was absolutely no chance of snow. Our house has since been painted -- a slight darker brown with dark green trim (courtesy of Pops, dh, Papa John, Uncle Dave, and GU). We're still deciding on a color for the front door (to be painted next spring). I'm thinking a dark red, but I will almost certainly change my mind before then. In case you didn't know this about me (or forgot), I am notorious for changing my mind when it comes to paint colors. Once I see it painted on, I inevitably want it a shade darker, a shade lighter, or a completely different color altogether.
As for Bub and Fin, they're growing up right before my eyes and there's not a darn thing I can do about it. If you can believe it (I can't!), they're almost fifteen months old.

The tube is temporary
but the glasses are here to stay.
