Letter to Oma & Pops, from Bub

Dear Oma & Pops,

Mommy and Daddy told us you were going on vacation and wouldn't be back for 12 days.  I'm not really sure how long that is, but I think it's a long time.  I know sometimes you go away, but you always come back so it's ok that you're gone.  Mommy says you deserve to have a really, REALLY nice time.

They also told us that we get a present from you every morning while you're gone.  Today I got a police car that you shake and when you set it down moves really fast across the floor.  It also says things like "You can't outrun the law" and "Son, you're in a heap of trouble".  I like it a lot and took it with me this morning to show the Doc-tah.  He liked it too and so did the other lady that was there (I think she was something called a massage therapist).  Sis got a present too.  She got a Kitty Cat that walks and purrs.  She didn't bring it with her, she wanted to bring Doggy Abby instead, but she looked for it as soon as we got home.

Mommy showed us a picture of a "ship" on TV this morning.  And Daddy keeps talking about a "Disney ship" and how he wants all of us to go on it someday.  I hope your ship is big like the one we saw on TV.  Does your ship have cartoon characters on it too?  I hope it does so then you can have someone to play with.

Did you have a yummy dinner?  Daddy says he hopes Pops had the steak and lobster.  I wasn't all that hungry for my dinner tonight, probably because I ate an entire chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon puffs, and a fruit twist on our way home from the outdoor mall.  Mommy had to return something to a store.  It's weird, she never seems to buy anything, always just returning stuff.  I wonder what that's all about?  Maybe it's a girl thing and Sis will grow up and do the same thing?

After that, we went to another store where Daddy got his arms measured.  A short, bald guy took one of those tape measure things and held it up to him.  Then he tried a couple jackets on, and then a pair of pants, but he didn't buy anything.  Although Mommy did say something about maybe coming back on Friday.

I heard Pops say on the phone he hopes you don't fall off your balcony cause you'd land right in the water.  I hope that doesn't happen either cause then you'd be all wet and have to change your clothes.  I got in trouble from Mommy today cause I wouldn't change my clothes.  Usually she just waits until I'm ready, or tickles me until I do what she wants, but this time she wanted me to do it "Right Now!"  I didn't like that very much so I cried and then I think she felt bad.  But once we got in the car I was fine, and Mommy was fine too.  She played hide n' seek with me from the front seat and that made us both laugh.

Daddy says he has to go back to work tomorrow, but that we get to come visit him.  He also told Mommy he has different days off than he did before, so he'll be home on Fridays instead of Mondays.  I'm not really sure what that means, but I like it when he's home to play with me.

I didn't really want to go to sleep tonight.  Sis and I played for a long time and then she gave me lots of kisses on my forehead.  I wiped them away and that made her laugh really hard.  Sis left and I rocked with Mommy while we watched Elmo on the DVD player.  After a while Daddy came in to put me to sleep.  He tucked me in with Maxx the Monkey and gave us both binkies.

I hope you're having fun on the ship.  Both Sis and I miss you very much.
