Dear Oma & Pops,
Today we went to a birthday party! There were balloons and decorations, and lots of kids to play with. But the best part was this:
His name was BJ and he had a red nose that squeaked and big shoes. I was scared of him at first so I sat on Daddy's lap, but by the end I liked him a lot. He made Bub laugh so hard that he fell over (but don't worry he didn't get hurt). He made me laugh too because he talked in a funny voice and had a pet squirrel (I thought it was real but Daddy said it was just a stuffed animal). My favorite part was when BJ made me a pink poodle out of balloons.
For lunch we had something called pigs in a blanket and strawberries. The birthday cake was decorated in clowns too. We didn't get to eat any of it though because we had to go home and take naps.
After naps, we went out for dinner at a place called Red Robin. We went at 4:30 so it wasn't very busy and we got this really big booth all to ourselves. I sat with Daddy on one side, and Bro sat on the other side with Mommy. Mommy and Daddy asked us if we wanted to sit in high chairs, but Bro and I have talked and we think we're getting too big for them. Sometimes we sit in them just because it's what Mommy and Daddy want us to do. They said we didn't have to as long as we promised to stay in the booth the whole time. Mommy and Daddy ate burgers and fries, I had a few bites of grilled cheese, and Bro had some of Mommy's hamburger bun (plain, no cheese) and mandarin oranges. On the way home, Daddy gave Mommy a high five and said "We did it! Our first time eating out as a family!"
Yesterday it rained all day so in the morning we went to Noah's, and in the afternoon we played with our new glow sticks and vacuumed the whole downstairs. Bro wanted to get out the mixer and make it go "wee wee", so Mommy made something called pound cake. I helped too but I made the mixer go too fast and batter splattered all over me. I wasn't sure what to do, but then Mommy took some batter and put it on her face, and then Bro's face, and then we all laughed really hard. I tasted the batter and it was yummy, but not as yummy as the batter from the pumpkin spice bread (or the dough from the chocolate chip cookies). Mommy didn't want us to eat too much of the batter because it has raw eggs in it.
After dinner we went for a car ride with Daddy. As soon as we pulled out of the driveway we heard lots of sirens. Daddy started driving a little faster and then we saw them: FIRETRUCKS!!! Daddy said they were going to a real fire and we had to pull over so a firetruck could pass us. The fire was in the same apartment complex where Tante Tina used to live. We watched them for a while, but then we had to leave because it was bathtime.
GU is coming over tomorrow morning. He's bringing over a tiller for Daddy, which sounds like something Bro is going to like. Maybe Doggy Mia, Mommy, and I can go for a walk to the park while the boys "do work". Mommy says it's supposed to be sunny (but still cold) for the next couple days, so as long as we put on our heavy jackets we can go outside.
We also went over to Amy and Kay-Kay's house. Bro played with the vacuum (of course!) while the girls ate goldfish crackers and played on the slide. Mommy and Amy were talking about going to get pedicures together, and how someday they'll be taking Kay-Kay and I to do "girly" things like that.
We hope you're having a great time! We miss you and can't wait to see you when you get back from vacation.
Love from, Fin
