I love my husband for a lot of reasons. Some of the top contenders being ...
He's a hard worker. A family man. Does yard work. Loves his job. Cooks (and does the dishes!). Cares about others and his community. Isn't afraid to cry. But mostly, because he gets me.

Yah sometimes we piss each other off, but the rest of the time we love and respect each other very much.
This Mother's Day, I found a completely new reason to love him. It involves having kids, so if you're a fellow parent (heck, what am I saying, even if you're not a parent) you're going to love this one.
It's yesterday morning. I got to sleep in (thanks kids for keeping the streak alive!), he had a cup of tea waiting for me when I got downstairs, fixed me a restaurant-worthy chicken and feta omelet for breakfast, and then said, "What do you want to do today?" I said, "Just give me an hour to go upstairs, relax, take a shower, and get a few things done. You do whatever it takes to keep them quiet and happy."
He gave me an enthusiastic "Ok!" and waved me upstairs. The last words I heard were, "Who wants to watch Elmo?" Surely I could have thought of another way to keep them entertained, but whatever it takes, that's what I said.
And this ... are you ready for it?
This right here would be my husband doing

WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP THEM QUIET AND HAPPY.
How men and women can have such vastly different interpretations of a very simple request is beyond me.
After laughing so hard I nearly peed my pants, what did I do? I got the camera, of course. And then I thought to
myself, "Poor sucker, he thought the minivan jokes were bad, this is
going to be *so* much worse."
Sorry babe, but I had to post it.
Oh, and thanks for a Mother's Day I will never EVER forget!
