The days of sleeping in are gone. The streak that stayed alive even through sickness is over.
But not only are we waking up early, we're not even sleeping through the night. No idea what's going on, but 3 of the last 4 nights Bub has woken up in the middle of the night and hasn't been able to go back to sleep on his own. He's been STTN on a regular basic for almost a year now, so this is definitely out of the ordinary for him. If he was just being fussy, that would be one thing. Or if he didn't feel well. Or peed through his diaper. But none of these would cause him to throw a FULL ON TANTRUM. Jumping up and down in his crib. Yelling and screaming as loud as he can. Throwing things. And yet, very few tears. Hmmmmm?

He's never done anything like this before, so we thought for sure something was wrong. We went in, rocked him back to sleep, and after that he was fine.
The next night he woke up again. We did the same thing, but whenever we tried putting him back down he would start screaming again. This went on for 5 hours. FIVE HOURS. We finally got him back to sleep at 5:15, and then had to wake him up at 8:30 because I didn't want to throw off his routine anymore than it already was.
The third night he slept through but woke up at 5:45. So much for the glory days.
Last night he woke up again. After 2 hours of the same routine, it was time to try something different. As much as letting him CIO isn't my ideal choice, it's worked for him in the past. I think he finally tired himself out sometime around 4:00 (but that was after 50 minutes of almost non-stop crying).

If he wakes up tonight, the strategy is not to go in his room at all. Ugh.
If I'm a zombie tomorrow, you'll know why.
