After a little cleaning up in the garage, and then some digging, we walked to the park. We have three parks within walking distance of our house. And by walking distance, I mean less than a quarter mile. They prefer the one that's farthest away (relatively speaking, of course). It also happens to be the smallest of the three, which you'd think would be a deterrent. But instead seems to be one of the reasons they like it. It's also set back from the road, surrounded by grass and trees, and the play structure itself, compared to the play equipment at the other two parks, is what Nana D. calls "pre-school appropriate".
As expected, it was packed. Although after a few minutes and the influx of two additional (and very excited!) toddlers, most of the older kids took off. So it was just us and another boy, probably 6 or so, his younger sister, and their grandma.
From the young girl we learned that her birthday is next week (she'll be four), she's having a princess-themed birthday party, her favorite color is purple, and she likes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
From the boy, Bub learned how to do this (among other things) ....
