In the last three weeks, we've been to the zoo six times. Which means from now on, we'll be going for free. Gotta love the yearly pass!
The first couple trips we were just getting our bearings. But now that we've got some experience under our belt, we can go from wake-up to zoo entrance in 45 minutes flat (50 minutes if we stop at N.oah's for coffee and bagel poppers).
We try to be one of the first ones there, and when we leave we get to make someone's day with a front row parking spot.
We have a route we like to take, starting with either Steller Cove or Black Bear Ridge, and ending at Lorikeet Landing.
We take stops along the way. At the sculpture park (by the concert lawn). At the drum hut (by the new Predators of the Serengeti exhibit). And at the old entrance for a potty/snack break.
Until recently, I hadn't been to the zoo since I was a senior in high school (we had my senior prom at the AfriCafe). But now that I've been back (a mere 14 years later), and with all the remodeling and additions, I can honestly say THE OREGON ZOO ROCKS.
And speaking of the animals, in no particular order ...
