Hubby has been sick for over two weeks, has a sinus infection and is on his second round of antibiotics.
Bub has a runny nose and his chest hurts.
Fin also has a runny nose and one of those deep-down-in-your-chest kind of coughs.
Even Oma, who NEVER gets sick (supposedly because she wills herself not to!) hasn't been feeling well.
A couple days later everyone seemed to be feeling better. Well, everyone except Fin. She wasn't running a fever, has energy to play, and hasn't been complaining that anything hurts. Even so, I decided I should probably take her to see Dr. J, just in case.
Her chest and throat was fine, but then Dr. J looked in her ears. Both were bright red and horribly infected. One of her ears was so bad that Dr. J was worried it might rupture. My first thought was, "Oh my gosh I am the WORST parent ever."
As if that wasn't bad enough, when Dr. J asked Fin if her ears had been bothering her, guess what she said?
Yes.
If I could have made myself disappear in that instant I would have. I swear she hadn't once said anything about her ears hurting. The look on my face must have said it all because Dr. J just patted me on the back and said, "Don't worry, it happens to all of us, even me."
Two (long!) weeks of antibiotics later, Fin was all back to normal. And because we had to bribe her to actually take the antibiotics, she was also the proud owner of a new pram stroller for her baby dolls.
